Fake policemen steal women’s jewelry at Bhupalpura

An elderly woman was targeted by due accused, impersonating as policemen at Matth, Bhupalpura in the morning and took away her gold ornaments.
Victim Indra Devi Ramecha, resident of Bhopalpura road no. 1 was targeted by the accused fake policemen when she was returning to her house after a walk. Around 300 meters away from her house the duo came to her and asked her to remove the gold bangles and Mangalsutra (4-5 Tolas) worn by her and keep them in her bag as a police barricading was on.
As both of them introduced themselves as policemen, the victim followed their instructions and gave them her ornaments and in time they exchanged her ornaments with imitation jewelry, wrapped in paper and kept in her bag; she left totally unaware of any mishap.
She found the imitation jewelry after she reached home and opened the bag. She immediately informed her daughter-in-law and son about the mishap who later lodged an FIR at the local police station against the fake policemen, informed one of the relatives of the victim.
