Female associate of Narayan Sai arrested from Udaipur

A female acquaintance of rape accused Narayan Sai; son of spiritual Guru Asaram Bapu was arrested by Udaipur police. The arrest was made last night on 7th Nov from Village Rama, near Kailashpuri, under Sukher Police Jurisdiction.

Narayan Sai is absconding since a rape case was lodged against him by Surat Police on Oct 6th. The arrest of his female associate, identified as Ganga alias Dharmishta would perhaps help police to get more details about Narayan Sai’s involvement in the crime.

Udaipur police informed its counterparts in Gujarat and a team of Surat Police has already reached Udaipur to take Ganga’s custody.

Asaram Bapu who is accused of sexually assaulting an underage girl at his Jodhpur ashram was arrested on Sept 1 2013. His son Narayan Sai is also booked under rape and molestation charges.

Ganga, resident of Jehangirpura, Surat was staying in the house of Shankar Prajapat along with her husband Pramod Mishra at Village Rama, around 30km from Udaipur. Shankar Prajapat, a local businessman is said to be a ardent follower of Asaram Bapu.

Both Ganga and her husband were staying at Shankar Prajapat’s house for the last 15 days. Shankar Prajapat first met Ganga three years ago at Asaram Bapu’s Ahmedabad Ashram.

Prajapat said that the couple approached him 15 days back and requested him to give lodging facility at his house. The couple told Prajapat that they came to visit Nathdwara Temple.

According to Prajapat, during their stay at his house, he started doubting the couple and informed police to investigate about them.

Udaipur police started exploring details about Ganga and contacted Gujarat Police. After verifying that Ganga is accused and wanted by Surat Police, Udaipur police launched an operation and arrested Ganga and her husband Pramod Mishra.

Pramod Mishra is basically from Bihar and employed in Gujarat.

Anant Kumar Dy S.P (West) told media that Ganga and her husband have close link with Narayan Sai and Ganga also stayed at Sai’s Jehangirpuri Ashram for three to four years.
