The suspected thieves who assaulted two policemen on the night of 1st Nov at Kharol Colony fled away with a stolen Pajero Car of Mahesh Mantri, resident of Alkapuri. Mantri has lodged police complaint.

According to the police, suspects who were around 5-6 in numbers were in a scorpio car. They first stole Mantri’s Pajero from Polo Ground and then went to Kharol Colony where they encountered with cops while trying to steal another car.

During the fight with police constable and a home guard, thieves ran away in Pajero leaving the scorpio car behind.

One of the suspected thieves had also fired one round in air before fleeing. Police has lodged nakabandi at various crossings and entry-exit of the city but the accused have not been caught yet.
