Five accused of Bribery Case remanded Judicial Custody

The Principal Secretary Ashok Singhvi, Additional Director of Mining Pankaj Gehot, Engineer P.R Ameta, Rashid and Sanjay Sethi were produced in front of the magistrate at his residence on Thursday morning when the proceedings began at 10.45 AM with the advocates. The accused were brought at Pratap Nagar residence under tight security.
The trial started with Sanjay Sethi at 11.01 AM followed by P.R Ameta at 11.04 AM and Pankaj Gehlot at 11.05 AM. However, Rashid was produced only a minute later after Gehlot and at last, Ashok Singhvi went inside to face the magistrate.
The senior advocate Kanchan Singh while talking to UT said that after the interrogation got over, the magistrate considered the demands and after verifying other aspects, the accused were remanded judicial custody and will be produced in court on 29th September.
Hiran added that no application for bail was presented by any of the accused except by Ashok Singhvi’s lawyer Niranjan Gaur; the decision of which will be taken till 26th September.
The case has been booked under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 and 409 and 120(b) of IPC. The relatives of the accused also arrived outside the magistrate’s house to meet them.
