Four members of a highway loot Gang were arrested by the cops on Sunday night from the Patiya Villlage while one accused managed to flee away during the raid.

Four members of a highway loot Gang were arrested by the cops on Sunday night from the Patiya Villlage while one accused managed to flee away during the raid.

Hanuman Prasad, Ad.S.P informed that on Sunday night, the team of Tidi Police Station raided the hideout of the suspects at Patiya and arrested four accused namely Vinod alias Pintu, Jitendra, Prakash and Sunil. Another accused Dinesh somehow escaped.

The gang is involved in looting truck drivers on highway No. 8. The loot gang used to operate in Tidi, Parsad and Rishabhdev area. They used to stop trucks and after kidnapping truck drivers they used to take the victims to deserted area and robbed them off with cash, mobile and valuables.As per police, the arrested accused confessed of committing 10 robberies and loot since Diwali.

On Sunday night when Police raided the hideout, the accused fled away; after a long chase, police successfully caught four of them.

The police started investigation after an incident of loot that took place on 13th Nov when a truck driver was looted. During investigation, police identified the accused and conducted the raid.

All accused are habitual criminals and were lodged in Jail until August this year.
