Ambamata Police has arrested a man posing as an IPS officer. Police has seized three mobile phones and few credit cards from the accused and booked him for fraud.

Ambamata Police has arrested a man posing as an IPS officer. Police has seized three mobile phones and few credit cards from the accused and booked him for fraud.

The accused identified as Faizan Siddiqui, resident of Allahabad was staying in Udaipur from past one month. During these days he had allegedly visited several restaurants of the city and demanded discount on dinner after introducing himself as an IPS Officer Rishi Raj Singh Ranawat.

On Tuesday, Faizan visited a restaurant 1559AD and introduced himself as an IPS Officer. The manager of restaurant, Dilip Singh felt suspicious over his behavior and informed Ambamata Police.

SHO Jitendra Anchalia of Ambamata Police started investigation and tried contacting the accused on the mobile number he gave to Dilip Singh in his last visit. Following investigations, the accused Faizan was nabbed on Wednesday by police.

During investigation, Faizan revealed that he was staying in Udaipur looking for a job and belongs to Allahabad. By introducing himself a senior police officer in Delhi earlier, he used to allegedly threaten several restaurant managers to get free or discounted food.

Jitendra Anchalia informed that Faizan also gave interviews in a few outsourcing companies of Udaipur and by contacting one of the companies; it was found that, Faizan introduced himself from Allahabad as belonging to a reputed family of IPS and IAS officers.
