Gamblers arrested in Police raid across Udaipur
Udaipur police on Friday evening arrested 26 gamblers from various areas across the city and have recovered an amount of Rs. 36500 from them. Along with this a few policemen were also suspended from their jobs for being negligent towards duty.
Superintendent of Police Rajendra Prasad Goyal informed that 5 different teams consisting of SHOs of various Police Stations and Jawans of Mewar Bheel Corp conducted the raids simultaneously and had gamblers arrested with cash, 11 Mobile Phones, Registers and 4 Motor bikes that were later seized and the accused were booked for gambling.
At Bhopalpura Police Station Circle 5 accused were arrested and a sum of Rs. 12970 was confiscated from them by the police. At Surajpol Police Station circle 4 accused were nabbed by the police team for gambling and a sum of Rs. 650 was recovered from them, S.P added.
Similarly on conducting raids in Pratap Nagar Police Station circle 3 people, at Hiran Magri Police Station circle 7 people and at Hathipol police station circle 7 persons were arrested and a total amount Rs. 9340 along with some slips said to be betting slips were confiscated by the cops.
Besides raiding the area for nabbing the gamblers Senior Police officers have also allegedly suspended around 5 police men (Beat Officers) for being negligent towards their duty.
