Ambamata Police has registered a case of fraud against a goldsmith for allegedly giving fake gold bar to the victim and borrowed Rs.8 Lac from him.

Ambamata Police has registered a case of fraud against a goldsmith for allegedly giving fake gold bar to the victim and borrowed Rs.8 Lac from him.

The victim came to know that the gold bar is not original after getting its quality checked and found the bar is made of brass and other metal.

According to Ram Lal, an investigation officer, the accused Rajiv Soni, resident of Master Colony borrowed Rs. 8 Lac from the victim Rajesh Nimawat and gave him the so called gold bar weighing 400gms as a security deposit. But when Soni didn’t return the money to Nimawat, he approached another Jeweler and did a quality analysis of the bar which was found fake.

Rajesh informed police that, he came in contact with Soni four years back when he gave him Rs.50,000 which Soni returned in the promised time.
