Chain Snatching has turned into another regular feature in the City and is frightfully becoming as common as a traffic violation that occurs unnoticed but under the very eyes of the city’s surveillance mechanism.

In another incident that has added to the woes of the city Police, Veenu, w/o Jaswant Gussar, a resident of Sector 11, Hiran Magri faced an assault of chain snatching while she way home. The incident occurred at 1pm after she picked up her son from Adinath School in Sector 11, where he is studying in class I.

Veenu picked up her son, and stopped her Scooty while on the way and started talking to an acquaintance from the neighborhood. At that moment, two men on a black Pulsar drove towards her, pulled the 4.5 tola Mangalsutra from her neck and fled, before the victim could come to her senses.

The onlookers gathered on the scene and subsequently the police was informed, said the victim.

An FIR has been lodged by Veenu at Goverdhan Vilas Police station and a man hunt has launched to catch the culprits.

As per information given by the police, one of the culprits was wearing a black shirt and other one was wearing a yellow shirt. They were of medium built and healthy in appearance.
