Mocking all police assurances to impede crime in the city, two suspects robbed seven units of gold ornaments from a jewelry shop. Interestingly, the robbery took place just below the Ghantaghar Police Station.

The incident occurred today at morning hours. Two people on a motorcycle came to the shop M/S Khubilal Prithvi Singh Sarupriya and asked the shop owners Himmat Singh and his brother Naval Singh to show them jewelry.

Suspects asked to show varieties of jewelry one after another and finally settled down on a pair of gold ear rings.

The suspects asked for receipt of purchase, coincidentally there was no receipt book available at the shop that time. Hence, Naval Singh asked them to stay as he went to take the receipt book from nearby shop.

As soon as Naval Singh left the shop with his brother Himmat Singh, both suspects stole seven pieces of gold ornaments and fled away.

A police report is lodged by the victim brothers.
