Surajpol police arrested an accused from Udiapol area last evening with a knife, pistol and 650 milligrams of brown sugar. He was booked under sections of Arms Act and NDPS Act.

Accused Shakir(25) alias Ghuda of Raza Nagar, Kishanpol in initial interrogation revealed that he had purchased the pistol for Rs.7000 from a person named Junaid from Neemuch (M.P) whom he met in jail in 2010.

Adsp City, Dr. Rajesh Bardwaj informed that, Shakir was in Jail for 10 months under the charge of Karan Singh’s murder which he committed with other members of his gang at Hathipol.

He also added that he used to sell brown sugar that was supplied to him by an auto rickshaw driver Bunty of Alipura area.

Police official informed that a team will be sent to Neemuch for the arrest of Junaid. On the other hand, considering the criminal back ground of Shakir his History Sheet will be opened.

This habitual offender was also planning to commit a serious crime today while he was arrested from Udiapol. When asked about the reason for keeping the pistol, he said that he was carrying it with an intention to extort money.
