Curbing the illegal trade of firearms in the city, police has arrested a history sheeter on Sunday evening with a country made pistol. The accused was booked under Arms Act and further investigation has been started.

Accused Inayat Khan alias Pinjara, resident of Silawatwadi was arrested from Goverdhan Vilas Chunginaka during the joint operation led by Special Task Force (STF) and Goverdhan Vilas Police Station.

STF in charge Abdul Rahman received information of Pinjara carrying weapon and hiding in the area. Rahman with the team of STF and Goverdhan Vilas Police raided the area and caught the accused. Upon checking, a country made pistol was found in his possession. Pinjara informed police that he purchased the weapon for Rs. 45K from one Arif of Madhya Pradesh.

The accused is also having several cases registered in his name including murder, half murder and assault at various police stations.
