Two women were allegedly subjected to assault by Home Guards at MB Hospital today. A written complaint has lodged by the victim at Hathipol Police Station, though the accused home guards are not identified yet.

One of the victims, Laxmi Wagaria, resident of Mavli said that her infant son had been admitted at MB Hospital’s ICU (Pediatric Ward). The baby was taken care by both Laxmi and her mother. Laxmi alleged that today while her mother was trying to enter inside the ICU she was stopped by a female Home Guard who also slapped the old lady.

When Laxmi tried to save her mother, a male Home Guard allegedly abused and manhandled her.

According to sources, Home Guards are deployed outside ICU to check that nobody should enter inside the ward as only one attendant is allowed with the patient.

Laxmi told police that her son is admitted in hospital from last few days and her mother accompanied her for help. She said that her mother was sent back home after the baby was admitted in ICU, but today her mother came to give her food.

According to Hathipol Police CI Narpat Singh, the complaint is lodged and investigation has begun to identify the accused home guards soon.

Dr. Suresh Goyal, HoD Pediatric Ward said that he has no information about the incident.
