The owner of a well known Hotel in Surajpol was admitted to MB hospital on the evening of 9th April, after he sustained serious injuries.

The owner of a well known Hotel in Surajpol was admitted to MB hospital on the evening of 9th April, after he sustained serious injuries.

Gaurav Bhandari, former NSUI District President and owner of Hotel Green View opposite Gulab Bagh was admitted to hospital after he was hit on the head with an iron rod.

The incident occurred today evening outside Hotel Green View, when Gaurav was sitting in the Hotel with his mother Vimla Bhandari and his friends Aukaj Porval and Nikhil Chajjar. Gaurav was told that a few people were misbehaving with the Hotel customers. Hearing this, Gaurav rushed outside to take matters under control. Instead, he was attacked with sticks abd hit on the head with an iron rod by one of the six people who were arguing with and abusing the Hotel customers.

Seeing this the other staff of the Hotel rushed out to save the situation, as even Gaurav’s friend Nikhil was hurt when he tried to save Gaurav. The attackers on seeing the number of people increasing, fled from the scene in a Black Scorpio, bearing a number plate with ‘Former MLA’ inscribed on it.

The Surajpol Police, in the meanwhile have detained a Black colored Scorpio at the Police Station and also detained a few people for questioning in relation to the incident. In the report, it was also stated by victim that accused allegedly fired a shot in air to threaten, which eventually broke one window of the Hotel.

The Police is investigating the entire issue and are also using the CCTV footage made available through the CCTV cameras installed at the Hotel site.
