A team from Udaipur Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a senior Engineer today for taking Rs.30000 as Bribe in return of passing a bill given by a Civil Contractor.

A Senior Engineer of the Housing Board Project Ajay Mehta, resident of Sector-4, Hiran Magri was caught red handed by special team of ACB while taking the bribe at his office at Sector-9. The contractor Gajendra Singh approached ACB and lodged a complaint against Mehta for allegedly demanding Rs.50000 when Singh asked Mehta to release a bill of the work of road construction.

Mehta asked Gajendra to give him Rs. 30000 as first part of the payment, with the remaining to be paid later.

ACB verified the allegation and laid a trap to catch Mehta.  Today, when Mehta asked Gajendra to come to his office at Sector 9 with the money, ACB officials raided the office and arrested Ajay Mehta with the bribe amount.

The ACB team was led by Additional S.P Prasann Khamesra.
