A husband assaulted his wife with sword over her love affair with another man. She was immediately rushed to the MB hospital with multiple injuries while the accused husband was arrested later in the evening by Hiran Magri police.

The incidence took place on Tuesday morning when the victim woman was attacked by her husband Dinesh at Umerda area where she was staying with another man for last few months after an alleged love affair.

Finding her alone at home, Dinesh at first convinced her to go with him but after her denial, he attacked her with a sword leaving her limbs brutally injured. The accused fled from the scene thereafter. The victim was shifted to MB hospital for treatment, said ASI Sajjan Singh.

In the initial investigation it was found that the victim woman was living with Dinesh with her 2 kids for sometime at a rented place owned by the other man at Kanpur Madri area. The victim wife decided to leave his husband and eloped with the other man. Dinesh was in search of the couple for a long time and having found her; went to her place with accomplices to convince her to come back but the situation worsened.

The police have arrested Dinesh and is interrogating him in relation to the crime.
