Situation turned tense today at university road when the statue of deity was found partially ruined at the devra situated near Bekni Bridge. Locals of the area have lodged police complaint against unknown people for intentionally causing damage to the idol.

According to sources, Babulal Meghval and his family residing in the area takes care of the Devra. Babulal works at S.P. office.

Last night the Devra was locked by Meghval’s family at around 11:30 pm and today when they came to open the Devra, the statue the Panchmukhi Naag Devta was found broken from the front side.

Large number of people gathered at the place and a report of the incidence was lodged at the Pratap Nagar police station.

Babulal informed that the Devra is around hundred year old and his ancestors used to take care of it, all other statues were left untouched; Babulal alleged that the statue is harmed intentionally.
