Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) demolished few parts of an under construction building considering it as an encroachment. The operation was conducted at Jogiwada area.

According to Jivan Singh Ranawat, a UMC official, “The owner of the building Ashok Mehta was warned for not constructing the overhang but he ignored the warning notice of the department and continued the construction.”

Moreover, Mehta was permitted to construct ground +1 floor and overhang of 1ft. but he constructed two floors and stretched the overhang till 2.5 ft.

One of Mehta’s neighbor complained to the UMC and acting upon it, the department served him warning notice but he ignored. Today, UMC’s anti encroachment team visited the place and demolished the illegal construction.
