More than one thousand cartons of liquor bottles have been seized by the Pratap Nagar Police when a truck bearing a Haryana number was taken into custody after the midnight of 27^th February. The truck was traversing on the Chittorgarh road and going towards Gujarat.

According to Gopal Das, S.I of Pratap Nagar Police, “we were informed about a truck carrying a large quantity of illegal alcohol and going towards Gujarat. The Police team laid a barricade some 300-400 meters starting from Pacific College.

As per information a police team led by Gopal Das with Prabhu Lal, Assistant Sub Inspector saw a truck (no. HR-58-R-8943) that was coming from Chittorgarh road and when they tried to stop the truck, the driver tried to turn the vehicle and rolled over the divider. The driver escaped into the dark.

When the police checked the truck, they found 1005 cartons of different varieties of liquor along with few a cartons of beer, which is estimated to be around Rs 25 lacs. This is said to be one of the biggest seizure of illegal alcohol till date.

No documents related to the vehicle were found from the truck. The truck was later taken into custody by the Pratap Nagar Police Station.
