One Jain temple dedicated to Lord Kesariya Ji was targeted by thieves who took away the donation box. In the morning, the theft came to light when priest Sushila Devi discovered the opened gate and the donation box missing. She alerted the neighbors who informed Ghanta ghar police station.

The cops rushed to the scene and began the investigation, after which the empty donation box was found with an iron rod 200 meters away from the temple, said Anil Sankhla, one of the neighbors.

In another part of the city, incidence of theft came to light on Friday morning at Maldas Street where the accused thief stole donation box from Bheruji temple. When the news of the theft spread the area, a number of shopkeepers reached the temple and condemned the incident. They also demanded to increase the night police patrolling in the area to avoid such incidences in the future.

The cops of Ghanta Ghar police station and Dhan Mandi police station started their investigation and interrogating the suspects in relation to the theft.
