A Grade 4 employee of M.B Hospital has registered a case of assault against the family members of a lady patient who died in hospital during treatment procedures.

In the report, the complainant has also mentioned that the Doctors were also beaten up by the attendants of the deceased.

The victim, Alka Ram, informed the police that the incident occurred yesterday morning  when a 45-year-old woman was brought to the hospital for treatment.

When the patient was in the Emergency ward with her attendants, they had to wait for a stretcher, as no stretchers were available. Subsequently, when they did rush her to the Ward for treatment, the woman died.

Her family members were distraught and began shouting at the hospital attendants, and thereafter started man-handling them. Eventually, they also started beating up the Doctors and other hospital staff.

Soon after the incident, Police arrived and shifted the body to the Mortuary and took control of the situation.

The case has been registered under ‘Causing Obstruction in Government Work’, which means that the accused in some way or the other, did not allow the Government employees to perform their work.
