Two people were subjected to alleged manhandling by a security guard of Central Jail when they denied giving Rs.1000 bribe in return of meeting a convicted prisoner. Surajpol Police has confirmed the complaint and started investigations.

Nirbhay Singh Devda and Pushkar Dangi, the complainants alleged that today when they went to Central Jail to meet a prisoner, a security guard of the jail whose identity is not known yet, demanded Rs.1000 from both and when they denied, the guard allegedly thrashed both with the butt of his gun.

Both victims were sent for medical checkup and their complaint is acknowledged by the concerned police station.

According to Nirbhay, “the jail authority usually gives a slip to all jail visitors but we were not given a slip and were asked to go inside. When we went in, the accused guard has asked for money and when we refused, he thrashed us with the rifle butt”.

“We have received the complaint and directed both victims for medical checkup” said Nirbhay Singh, Duty Officer, Surajpol Police Station.
