Considering it as one of the biggest incident of thefts in any Udaipur hotel, Police has started a massive manhunt of a suspect who stole jewelry worth 15 Lac rupees and 5 lac cash from a room in Hotel Radisson Blue.

Considering it as one of the biggest incident of thefts in any Udaipur hotel, Police has started a massive manhunt of a suspect who stole jewelry worth 15 Lac rupees and 5 lac cash from a room in Hotel Radisson Blue.

The incident occurred on Friday 14th Nov in room no 2052, which was checked in by Pondicherry based jeweler Niranjan Jain.

Jain is in Udaipur to host his daughter’s marriage. The theft took place on Friday when all relatives and in laws were busy in marriage customs. During that, one of the relatives went to the room and noticed everything was scattered on the floor. He immediately informed Niranjan Jain and others.

On checking it was discovered that precious ornaments and jewelry worth Rs.15 Lac and Rs.5 Lac cash were missing. The victim informed hotel staff and police about the incident.

As per initial investigation, police have  found a suspect through CCTV camera footage of the hotel. The suspect who appeared to be in hotel staff uniform was captured in the footage, getting out of the hotel with a bag in his hand and taking a rickshaw.

Police is also investigating on how the suspect went inside the hotel without getting questioned by security and reception staff. How the suspect got access to the room of guest and how he posseased  prior information about their being jewelry and cash in the victim’s room. Whether it was by mere chance that the room the alleged thief picked up had so much cash and jewelry Or was it are meditated, will be deciphered only after the suspect is rounded up and Investigation is done.
