Surajpol police has arrested a key maker today under the charges of stealing jewelry from a house, on the pretext of repairing the lock of almirah of the house.

Accused Sardar Sartaj Singh, alias Kuldeep Singh of Bedwass area, was arrested by the police from his house and recovered the stolen jewelry from him.
Police started the investigation of the matter after they received a complaint of theft from the victim Priya Ahuja informing that she called the accused at her house to repair the lock of one of the almirah.
After a while, the accused left the house saying that he would return back in sometime to repair the lock. When he didn’t turn up after considerable time, the victim felt suspicious and called another mechanic to open the lock. After opening the lock, she discovered that a gold bangle of half tola, a pair of ear ring weighing half a tola and a gold ring were missing, said police.
A team of Surajpol police, including Head Constable Ruhitash, Constable Mohammad Athar and Constable Ganesh Singh started the investigation. After working on the clues provided by the victim, they finally identified the accused and arrested him, said police.
All the stolen ornaments are recovered and police is still interrogating him for more information.
