Kidnapped Villagers rescued, hunt on for abductors

9 persons were booked under charges of kidnapping and beating four individuals. The accused are residents of Kanpur area, near Madri.

 

9 persons were booked under charges of kidnapping and beating four individuals. The accused are residents of Kanpur area, near Madri.

As per Police, villagers of Kanpur village abducted four individuals viz. Chatra Kalbeliya, Mangi Lal, Prakash and Kishan Banjara on suspicions that they were transporting cattle illegally.  Chatra Kalbeliya and Mangi Lal were abducted on Saturday by villagers and were kept at a secluded location with Prakash and Kishan who had been abducted earlier.

Chatra and Mangi Lal were in their truck carrying Buffaloes, when they were abducted by the villagers.

Police raided the place and rescued all four victims, but the kidnappers fled from the scene. Accused were identified as Anil, Nirmal, Dinesh, Mangi, Amit, laxmi Lal, Hitesh, Bhagwati and Nave, as per Police.

Chatra informed Police that they were carrying cattle in their trucks, which they purchased from Semari and were heading towards their village in Rail Magra. They purchased the cattle to use them in their farms, but the villagers apprehended them, suspecting otherwise.

Police is investigating the case and searching for the accused villagers.
