A 30-year-old woman approached IG of Police today and complained about being sexually abused by a police constable based in Sirohi. She also claims of being harassed by the accused and his family members.

The victim woman came along with her husband to meet the I.G Amrit Kalash and gave him a written complained against a police constable, both victim and accused are resident of a village Mathara in Kotra area.

Victim woman alleged that on 31 Aug 2013 while she was washing clothes at a river close to her house, the accused police constable came there holding a sword and raped her. The relatives of the accused also supported him and threatened the victim.

According to the lawyer of the victim, immediately after the incident she approached local police station but no action was taken against the accused. Police have lodged report under section 354, 323/34 of IPC but the report should be lodged under 354A and 376 IPC.

The woman even reached S.P. on 19^th Sept but instead of taking action against the accused, police is pressurizing her to negotiate and the family of accused is threatening her.

I.G. Amrit Kalash has assured to support the victim and will direct investigation of the matter.
