Goverdhan Vilas Police has been successful in nabbing the mastermind behind the murder of Ajay Purbia, which took place on 9^th June 2014. This arrest seems to have completed the chain of arrests in the same murder, wherein the police had already arrested 6 of the accused.

As per the Police, Praveen Wasita, a close aid of the deceased Praveen Paliwal, was arrested on the witness of Vinod Jain who was with Ajay Purbia alias Ajju Kalal when he was shot fatally.

Praveen Wasita’s shooting down of Ajay was in retaliation to the murder of Praveen Paliwal, which was plotted by Ajay. An inter gang rivalry resulted in Paliwal’s murder, which was coordinated by Ajay’s gang following a dispute on a piece of land. Wasita was on the run since Ajay Purbia was shot by him and his accomplices.

A police report was given by Vinod, who was with Ajay on his bike and he survived after the day light firing incidence which was executed by Wasita to kill Ajay Purbia.

On this report all the accused were identified and Wasita was considered to be the main accused in the incident.

The Police are further interrogating Praveen Wasita, while on the other hand all the other accused who were arrested earlier have been sent to Judicial Custody.

How it all happened

During initial interrogation Wasita confessed that Purbia’s murder plan was executed in retaliation to Praveen Paliwal’s murder. Paliwal was murdered on Holi earlier this year, when he was out shopping with his family and was shot point blank at a garment shop near Shastri Circle.

Vinod, who was with Ajay Purbia at the time he was shot, informed the Police that on 9^th June, he had accompanied Ajay Purbia to Technoy Motors where they had gone to get their car serviced. After leaving the car at the workshop, both Vinod and Ajay were heading towards Balicha on a bike belonging to their common friend, Lalit Singh.

They were going to Balicha to eat at a local Dhaba. Before they left the service centre, Wasita had met them as he also had come there in his car. Wasita met both Ajay and Vinod and left, as per information provided by Police.

However, while they were riding towards the Dhaba at Balicha, Wasita turned up again on a bike with his accomplice. Wasita brought his bike closer and opened fire on Ajay, before fleeing from the scene.
