Hundreds of tenants of Lodha Complex, a business center near Shastri Circle, turned violent today and pulled out the iron gate of the parking area which was specially allocated for the owners of building.

The businessmen who either rented or bought office and shops in the complex objected on the alleged prejudice of building owners, as they regularly face lack of parking space for their vehicles. Police complaints from both sides have been lodged.

Owners of the complex defended their purpose of locking the parking area and said that they have closed a certain parking area to protect their vehicles from any damage. And added, since the parking is allotted to them, they are free to use it anyway they want.

Lokesh Gour, one of the office owner said, “Previously the complex had a common parking for everyone. But from last 2 months the parking space was locked by the owner of the building. All the office owners of the building which are in hundreds are facing this problem.”

Mahendra Singh Rathore, one of the directors of Lodha Complex said, “All the allegations by tenants are false and the gates were locked after someone destroyed the cars parked at the parking lot few months ago. Since then we have locked the area to protect our vehicles.”

Rathore also mentioned, “Since the building was purchased from the previous owner, we have full rights to utilize the parking space as per our need.”

Many commercial complexes of the city are also facing parking problems. In Anand Plaza, the office owners are facing problems due to vehicles parked by outsiders while in other areas like Durga Nursery, shopkeepers are objecting on parking of vehicles in front of their shops.
