Man arrested for looting his 80-year-old grandmother
Hiran Magri police on Monday arrested a man for snatching ear rings from his own grandmother’s ears on 10th May at Bappa Rawal Nagar. The accused targeted the victim while she protested against his attempt of loot in the house.
In a place where the children look up to their old, grand parents for bed time stories and selfless pampering that needs nothing in return, an incidence of arrest stained this notion when a man was arrested by Hiran Magri police on Monday for snatching ear rings from his own grandmother’s ears on 10th May at Bappa Rawal Nagar. The accused targeted the victim while she protested against his attempt of loot in the house.
Hiran Magri police is investigating the matter of day light loot occurred at Bappa Rawal Nagar where an elderly woman was targeted by the accused who snatched her earrings and made an attempt to rob her house as well. The case took a shocking turn when the accused was found out to be her grandson, identified as Surendra Singh Devda.
In the investigation the accused accepted committing the crime in order to live an enjoyable life. He hailed from Ratanpur area of Kurabad village and was living with the victim grandmother since his childhood, Station Head Officer Chagan Rajporuhit said.
SHO further added that the accused was an alleged alcoholic and jobless for a long time who entered the victim’s house with an intention of stealing valuables from her house. The arrested accused was booked for loot and is under investigation in regards to his involvement in other thefts at Hiran Magri area.
The incidence had taken place on 10th May where the victim Kesar Bai (80) was sleeping in his house at Bappa Rawal Nagar and woke up after seeing a tall man stealing valuables from her house. She started to protest against the accused when in returned he snatched her earring and tried to strangulate her. Later the police was informed who questioned a few suspects where finally the needle stuck to victim’s grandson who was later arrested.
