Under the anti illegal weapon drive, Udaipur police on Thursday arrested an accused with a country made pistol at Gokulpuri colony, Ayad. The illegal weapon was confiscated from the accused while he was booked under various sections of Arms act.

Accused who was identified as Lokesh Menaria is a resident of Panerio ki Madri. During his interrogation he revealed that he had purchased the pistol from one of his neighbors Rupesh Menaria in Rs. 8000. The weapon was purchased by the accused just to create fear in his area and to threaten the people, Police said.

The Special Task Force with the help of Bhopalpura police conducted a raid based on a tip off and arrested the accused with the illegal weapon, added the police.

Lokesh Menaria is a close aid of Silverster alias Dipu and Narendra Paneri who are hardcore criminals of the city and also associated with Kiran Alias Kanchha who was involved in an incidence of firing and other crime, police informed.
