A rape accused was sent to judicial custody by the court on Monday after being arrested by Pratap Nagar police a day ago under the charge of raping his brother-in-law’s wife.

He had targeted the victim when she was alone at home and her family members had gone to attend a marriage function at Fateh Nagar.

The accused identified as Ambalal alias Anil Kumawat of Fateh Nagar was staying at the house of the victim for last few years. The 19 year old victim was married to her husband a year ago and was staying at in-laws house at Dhikli.

On 20^th April when Ambalal’s wife and mother went to Fateh Nagar to attend family function and the husband of the victim left for work, the accused took advantage of the situation, raped the victim and fled from the house.

Later, she told her parents who lodged a complaint to the police. Based on the reports received of the medical examination of the girl, the police began the search operation and raided various hideouts of the accused.

Police informed that Ambalal was finally arrested on Sunday by the cops and in the initial investigation it was found that the accused was working as a line man at Reliance Communications Ltd., Udaipur.
