A Mumbai based man surrendered at Udaipur today, after killing his wife at Mumbai.  According to him it was a case of honor killing.

Raju s/o Mohan Lal Shrimali ,30 resident of Bhiwanadi, Mumbai killed his wife, Swati Goswami after seeing her with another man in his own house when he returned back from his work at around 9 pm on 4^th December.  After committing this horrendous crime, he went to his parental house at Kanour, Rajasthan and after putting a lock there he came to Udaipur yesterday.

Today, he suddenly arrived at the Hathipol Police Station and after giving all the information about his mistake, he willingly surrendered in front of the Hathipol Police.

The Hathipol Police informed Mumbai Police and a team from Mumbai police has left for Udaipur to take back the accused to Mumbai for further proceedings, said the SHO, Hathipol Police Station.

According to police ‘ Raju met the girl he married at the Thread Mill at Bhiwandi, where he worked.  She was a co-worker of Raju four years back and both of them got married seven month back.  Swati belongs to Lahor village in the Usmanabad district, but she was living at Bhiwandi since she was working there for the last few years.  According to Raju, the couple was living in amicable conditions, but after witnessing the presence of another man in his house, he could not bear the insult and strangled his wife with his hands.

Raju is under arrest at the Hathipol Police Station and he will be handed over to member of the Police team from the Nizampura Police Station, Mumbai.
