In an important decision taken today by special session court of Udaipur district, a man accused of raping his own minor daughter was sent to life imprisonment. The judgment was made within 42 days of filing the charge sheet.

The convict Kamal Gameti, resident of Dhul ki Pati, Hiran Magri found guilty of raping his daughter on 15^th May 2014 while his wife was not at home. The accused threatened his daughter to not disclose the incident.

After the incident, the victim was under mental trauma and she informed her mother about the incident. The mother took her to police station and lodged complaint against her husband. Police arrested the accused under section 376 of IPC and the PSOCO Act (Protection of Children against Sexual Abuse).

Special court chaired by District Judge Ramchandra Singh Jhala sentenced the convict to life imprisonment with the penalty of Rs.25000.

“This case is the best example of quick trial. The judgment came within 42 days of producing the charge sheet, evidences and arguments, which is a first case in Udaipur,” informed Dhansingh Jhala, the public prosecutor.
