A shocking incident came to light when a man set his house on fire at Kumharo ka Bhatta following an argument with his sister. Two fire engines responded and controlled the situation with the help of local police team. Valuables of around Rs. 1.5 Lac were burnt with no injuries to living.

According to the victim Santosh Berwa, her younger brother Manoj came home on Thursday afternoon in a drunken state and started an argument with the sister. When she protested, he turned violent and threw furniture, appliances around before setting the wooden bed on fire.

The fire grew and consumed with it the almirah, bed, windows, mattresses and other utensils. His sister called for help after which the neighbors came and later Bhupalpura police reached the spot and started the rescue operation.

The accused Manoj was arrested by the police who are interrogating him in relation to the crime, as informed by SHO Chand Mal.

While talking to UT, victim Santosh informed that Manoj, an alcoholic usually used to misbehave with handicapped father and created nuisance in the area. The sister, the only earning member of the house used to work as a maid.
