A man was arrested by Sukher police on Monday for attacking one of his neighbors and stabbing him with a sharp knife late night at Sukhdevi colony.

The victim was identified as Nikhil Khatik (20) of Sukhdevi colony who was targeted by accused Gautam on Sunday night at 10 PM while he was strolling in the colony. Following a heated argument between the duo over an old issue, Gaurav attacked Nikhil with a knife, stabbing him multiple number of times before he fled from the scene.

The victim received several facial injuries and was rushed to MB Hospital for treatment by the locals, said police. The victim was later shifted to private hospital by his relatives after critical situation. On the other hand, after a thorough investigation, the police arrested the accused within few hours of the mishap.

The interrogation is on and the police are trying to recover the weapon used to execute the crime.
