The team of Special Task Force and Hathipol police nabbed Ram Chandra Bhatt (34) of Bhujda village for having an illegal pistol in his possession. The weapon was seized and the accused was booked under various sections of Arms Act.

The joint team was keeping a check on the suspects on the orders of SP as a drive against the illegal weapon suppliers in the city. Based on a tip off, the Hathipol police raided the area and arrested the accused who held the illegal weapon in his custody, police said.

During the interrogation, the accused revealed that he had purchased the pistol from Salaam (40) of Jaatwadi area in Rs. 50,000 with an intention of creating terror among people.
