Dhanna Meghwal, in his indictment blamed the accused group of entering his house with sticks and swords and beating him and his family members. A middle aged woman also sustained injuries, as per the report.
Dhanna, a resident of Bichdi village informed Police that the previous night, when he and his family members were celebrating Holi at their house, a few of his neighbors entered their house and started beating them.
He also said that when Jamni Bai, relative of the Dhanna tried to intervene and stop the accused from beating Dhanna they attacked her with a sword and she sustained injuries on her head. Not only Jamni, but all the family members of Dhanna including him were beaten by the accused, and after the incidence they fled from the scene, as per police.
The accused were identified as Ram Lal, Rupli, Geeta, Rupa, Dulat Ram, Kalu Lal, Heera Lal, Chagan Keer, among others of Vajmia village. All of them were booked for assaulting the victim and his family on a small issue of being drunk. Earlier during the day the accused had a hot talk with Dhanna after consuming alcohol and later at night all accused attacked the victims at their house, said police.
The matter is under investigation and the police are investigating the actual reasons for the incident, said one of the Police Officers at Pratap Nagar police station.
