Mining Bribery Case: Court rejects bail of Four

The high profile bribery case of the mining department took a new turn after the bail applications of four accused Shyam Sunder Shingvi, Sher Khan, P.R Ameta and Pankaj Gehlot was turned down by the ACB court here at Udaipur on Thursday.

Public Prosecutor Om Prakash informed that the judicial custody of the 8 accused of the mining bribery case including the suspended joint secretary of mining department Ashok Singhvi has been extended up to 16th October.

Besides this, the bail plea of four of them has also been put down by the ACB court after an appeal made by their respective lawyers. The next hearing of the case will be held on 16th October.

 On Thursday, the accused were brought to the ACB court in the jail bus and were produced in the court. All of them were seen upset and tiredness was also visible on their faces. A number of relatives and family members of the accused were spotted outside court premises who were curious to talk to them and to know about their health.
