Today afternoon Goverdhan Vilas police arrested 4 persons accused of Highway loot, from the jungles of Kalyanpur area.

“The arrested persons were identified as Shanti Lal Meena, Babu Lal Meena, Narayan Lal Meena and the leader of the gang Rakesh Meena of Kalyaanpur village”, DySP Ranu Sharma informed.

Sharma further added that the accused used to target trucks in Kharpina area which is on the Ahmadabad highway during late hours and rob the drivers. Goverdhan Vilas police had started their search after getting an FIR from a truck driver on 1st May.

During investigation it was found that the stolen mobile phone of the victim truck driver was in use and its location was identified in Kalyanpur area. On getting technical assistance and finding the location of the mobile phone the team of cops raided the area and arrested the accused from the jungles of Kalyaanpur.

“Whilst initial interrogation the accused accepted committing around a dozen such incidences of loot and a number of looted articles were also recovered by the cops”, Sharma added.
