A mentally retarded man attacked his mother, killing her in the process.

This shocking incident occurred at Chanchvada Village, which falls under the Prasad Police Station, upcountry from Udaipur.

The victim, 72 year old Haju Bai was attacked by her retarded son Babu Lal on Saturday morning, when she was going to fetch some water from a source near her farm.   Babu Lal, who was working at the farm, suddenly attacked her with a sharp tool, an equipment which is used in farming. Haju Bai was severely injured on her leg and the resultant bleeding led to her death.

It was informed by the Police that as per their information, the accused Babu Lal is mentally unwell and has been causing problems earlier with his behavior.

The accused has been detained by the Police while the body of the deceased has been shifted to the mortuary.
