A duo of 50 year old woman and her 35 year old son received severe injuries in a sword attack on Friday afternoon at sector-5 of Hiran Magri. The mother’s head was seriously injured whereas the son lost one of his wrists.

The scene occurred on Friday afternoon when victim Ganesh Harijan was attending a marriage function of one of his relatives at sector-5. He saw a number of men who arrived in a car in a suspicious manner. While interrogating them, they entered into an argument where suddenly the accused pulled out swords and attacked Ganesha.

The parents came out of the wedding procession and saw the unidentified accused beating their boy. When Ganesh’s mother tried to intervene, she was attacked with the sword on her head. Leaving the two injured, the accused fled from the scene, informed Mitthu Lal, Ganesh’s father

The injured were rushed to the MB Hospital and a team of Hiran Magri police station reached the scene. The police complaint had been lodged against the accused and its investigation is on, as per station house officer Chagan Rajporuhit.
