Mohammad Umar (45), died on the spot after being run over by a speeding truck that hit him head-on today morning at Madri Industrial Area, near IT Park.

The truck has been seized by Pratap Nagar Police but the unidentified truck driver is absconding. The case is registered at Pratap Nagar police station.

According to the police, Umar, resident of Roop Nagar, Payda was on his way to Madri Lane-12. When he crossed the IT Park area, a truck approaching from his front thrashed him. He died on the spot.

Large number of people gathered at the scene and called police and ambulance. The body of victim is transferred to mortuary.
