Hiran Magri Police have registered a case of fraud amounting to Rs.21 lac against Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty.

As per information provided by Police, the case of fraud was registered by Hemendra Singh Solanki, resident of Sector 3, Hiran Magri, who owns a petrol pump in Sector 4.

The details of the case speak about a movie “Mumbai Kiski Hai”, which was to be produced under the banner of Banna Film Productions Pvt Ltd, which is Hemendra’s venture.

As per the report, the production house had decided in mid 2013 to sign Sunil Shetty for the lead role, and Hemendra had personally approached Sunil Shetty in June 2013. Subsequent to the initial meeting, Shetty agreed to play the lead role in the movie, asking for Rs. 71 lac as his fee. The figure was agreed to and Hemendra returned to Udaipur, finalising locations between Mumbai and Udaipur for the filming of the movie.

After a few days Sunil Shetty’s office demanded Rs. 21 lac as advance. Hemendra gave an undated cheque to Sunil Shetty instructing him to inform him of the day of presenting the cheque before presenting it to the bank. Hemendra was subsequently informed twice by his bank that the cheque had been presented and Hemendra then called Asif, Shetty’s assistant asking him why the cheque was presented without asking Hemendra? Asif cited urgent fund requirement, subsequent to which Hemendra processed an RTGS to Sunil for Rs. 21 lac on 10 July 2013.

Hemendra then visited Mumbai with the director Babu Bhatt, when Sunil refused to work with Babu Bhatt. Hemendra tried to meet Sunil Shetty and after waiting for 5 days, finally spoke to him. As per the complaint, Sunil refused to work with Bhatt and also asked Hemendra to redo the songs and dance sequences as well as change the heroine of the movie, to which Hemendra refused.

On 29th March 2014, Hemendra called Sunil Shetty and told him of his decision of not casting him in the movie. Sunil agreed to work on Hemendra’s condition only on receipt of another 40 lac as advance. Hemendra refused to meet his demand and warned of legal action, to which Shetty turned a deaf ear.

Hemendra spoke to the SP, Udaipur 15 days ago and today a complaint was registered at the Hiran Magri Police station. The police is investigating the matter.
