Mrtiyunjay Morya, a resident of Bharat Nagar, H.P colony, Mumbai received a SMS on his son Swapnil Morya’s mobile a few days back regarding admission at the Gitanjali College, Udaipur from an unknown number informing them about the admission.

On calling the unknown number, a person answered the phone and gave his name as Shailendra Singh. Shailendra told Morya that a seat is vacant in Geetanjali College and he can help in his son’s admission.

A few days later, Mritunjay Morya again received a call from Shailendra Singh who asked him to provide an amount of Rs. 12 lacs as donation and Rs.2.97 Lac college admission fees through demand draft.

According to the police, Mritunjay was asked to send the Demand Draft via email on the email address provided by the accused Shailendra Singh and the victim did as asked.

When Mrityunjay Morya reached Udaipur yesterday with his son and went to Gitanjali College he found no admission was done on his son Swapnil Morya’s name and the college administration was unaware of any person named Shailendra Singh.

On being taken aback due to the situation, the victim rushed to the Hiran Magri Police Station and registered the case.
