Parents of a two-and-half year old girl have lodged a complaint of an attempt to rape on their daughter by a man residing nearby. Medical report has confirmed that the girl child was physically abused.

The accused Shantilal Meena (25) is absconding since he allegedly attempted to commit the heinous crime. Police has started a search operation to nab the accused.

According to sources, the girl child was seen crying by her mother yesterday when she came inside the house all alone. When asked, people nearby said that Shantilal Meena had left the child outside their house and gone away.

The case was lodged at Hiran Magri Police station by father of the girl. Preliminary investigations revealed that the girl was picked up by accused when she was playing outside her house. The accused offered her chocolates and took her at an unknown place.

After sometime, the accused left the girl back at her house. By the time, her parents also started searching for her.

When the child was seen crying profusely, she was checked by her parents and they found some blood stains on her private parts. The parents immediately rushed to police station and lodged a complaint.

A medical test on the child confirmed an attempt to rape.

Child Welfare Committee has directed that the case be lodged under The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act.
