Sudden panic occurred in the Pannadhay Wing of MB Hospital when on Sunday afternoon a newly born girl child was found missing from the ward. The police was informed about the mishap that started the investigation immediately.
The incidence occurred in the afternoon when a newly born girl child, kept in the nursery was later stolen from the Janana Hospital.
Geeta Rawat, the grandmother of the minor girl informed that she had arrived in the city from Salumber on 26th June with her daughter Phuli (20). In the evening, her daughter delivered a baby girl and was admitted in ward no. 1.
On Sunday morning, an aged woman came to Phuli and Geeta and started a conversation saying how her relative was also admitted in the same ward for the delivery. Geeta and the accused woman went to the nursery to attend the little girl. The accused took the girl in her hand and started to move away. When Geeta tried to stop her, she said that she is taking the baby to Phuli to feed her milk. Later, she was found missing with the little girl.
Geeta and Phuli immediately informed her relatives about the mishap and started searching the woman on their own but later the Hathipol police including DySP Gopal Singh Bhati and SHO Rajesh Sharma rushed to the hospital and started the investigation.
SHO informed that the CCTV footage installed at the wing will be checked first post which a complaint will be lodged against the unknown accused.
However, questions are being raised in regards to the security and safety management of the division’s biggest hospital.
One of the hospital staff informed that the hospital security system demands a release receipt at the exit gate by the security guards to take a newly born baby out of the hospital; which is shocking here as the woman was capable of stealing a baby in such tight security of the hospital premises.
