Police has arrested a college student for committing series of burglaries in a house and at a mobile shop. The accused is pursuing Nursing course from a private medical college of the city.

3rd year student Rakesh Kumar Meena, 23, from Bhilwara District is staying in Udaipur for higher studies. During interrogation, he revealed that he committed theft in Jagdish Megwal’s house twice.

According to police, investigation started after Megwal, resident of Paneriyon ki Madri lodged FIR at Hiran Magri police station.

During investigation, police found surgical hand gloves and bandage which helped identifying the accused.

Rakesh confessed stealing mobile phone, LED TV, gold mangalsutra and some cash from Jagdish’s house. After few days, he again committed theft in the same house and stole Rs.10,000 cash and a pair of gold earrings.

During interrogation, Rakesh also confessed of stealing number of mobile phones from Liberty Mobile Shop at sector 6.

As per police, interrogation is going on and more cases of thefts might get solved following the arrest of Rakesh.
