Shahjad alias Chini, habitual offender and one of the accused of the extortion case registered by a shoe shop owner at Bhopalpura police station, was sent under judicial custody remand after he was produced in the court on Thursday. An FIR was lodged by victim Sampat Mochi against Chini and his crime partner Azam after which the cops on Wednesday evening arrested him. On Thursday, he was sent under judicial custody remand by the court, said SHO Chandmal, Bhopalpura police station. This action took place as accused Azam and Chini had allegedly demanded money from the victim in relation to a property issue after which the victim lodged a case of extortion against both. Upon investigation, the cops nabbed Shahjad on Wednesday while the efforts to arrest the key accused Azam is still on, SHO added.
