Shakir alias Godha, a history sheeter with an illegal revolver was arrested from Kishanpol area by a team of Surajpol police on Tuesday. The accused was rounded up after suspicion and later arrested under various sections of Arms Act.

Ramesh Kumar, SHO of Surajpol police station informed that they received a tip off about a suspect at Kishanpol area with an illegal weapon in his custody. Acting on the information, the team raided the area and nabbed the accused identified as Shakir alias Godha.

He is a habitual offender and a history sheeter who is having at least 7 cases registered under his name in the charge of murder, theft, burglary, attempt of murder etc. His weapon was also seized by the police.

During initial interrogation, it was found that before his arrest, he was planning to execute a serious crime. The police is trying to retrieve more information regarding the illegal weaponry and other people involved in this business, said SHO.
