A huge crowd gathered near UIT Bridge after a dead body of newborn girl was found, wrapped in a cloth. A tag with a name written on it was attached to the body.

The passersby spotted the body and informed the police after which a team of Hathipol police reached the scene.

In the investigation, the police found the girl child to be a month old who was lying there for past 3-4 days. Parts of her body were eaten by animals.

The body was shifted to mortuary and a case was registered against the parents for being negligent towards their child, police informed.
